Infrastructure and cabling
A considered foundation for the office.
The connections behind the desks deserve the same attention as the devices on them. Plan the routes, racks and handover before they become difficult to change.
Discuss your requirementScope follows the layout and the requirements
A cabling plan starts with where people and equipment will be, what needs connecting and which spaces may change. We help translate those needs into an agreed scope, including desk locations, access points, meeting rooms and the equipment area. Early decisions give the wider fit-out team clearer requirements to work with.
The outcome: an installation you can work with
Switches, patching, storage and other equipment need a practical arrangement. We consider the available space, connectivity and maintenance access, with relevant power and building requirements coordinated with the appropriate parties. The goal is an installation that can be understood and worked on after the project is complete.
A coordinated process for installation and change
Physical work has dependencies: access to the site, completed routes, furniture positions and the availability of connected equipment. We help bring those dependencies into the IT schedule and agree how existing users will be affected. Changes to an occupied office need a different sequence from a new space that is still being fitted out.
Finish with an understandable handover
Labels, connection records and agreed verification are part of a useful completion, not an afterthought. We define the required checks and documentation in the scope so everyone knows what will be delivered. That record gives future troubleshooting, additions and office changes a clearer starting point.
Before we begin
Frequently asked questions about physical infrastructure.
- Can existing cabling be reused? We need to understand its condition, routes and suitability for the intended work. Reuse or replacement should follow that review and the agreed requirements.
- When should IT join a fit-out project? While equipment locations, routes and the schedule can still be coordinated. Early involvement helps surface dependencies before installation begins.
